Luckily it wasn't hard at all - I only got her a few weeks ago. Apparently she used to be a picky eater, but now she'll do anything for an extra piece of kibble. We're making a point of feeding her strictly high quality dog food (Canidae) and milk bones as an occasional treat. Lots and lots of walks. Though, she's pretty out of shape - anything more than 30 minutes of exercise at a time and she passes out for the rest of the day. I hope to turn her into a good jogging companion one day. :) All the credit for slimming her down belongs to Muchlove.org. A wonderful, no kill organization that I happened upon when I saw Cheeto's cute, chubby face on Petfinder.com.

Hooray for pet diets! He looks so much healthier now and I bet he can get around much easier too.
Was it a struggle to slim him down?
